Worship Aid

Procession Song: “Sweet Hour of Prayer”

Verse 1. Sweet hour of prayer, Sweet hour of prayer that calls me from a world of care
And bids me at my Father's throne; Make all my wants and wishes known
In seasons of distress and grief; My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter's snare; By Thy return, sweet hour of prayer

Homily

Second Meditation Song: "Holy Is His Name"

Verse 1:

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord
And my spirit exalts in God my savior
For He has looked with mercy on my lowliness
And my name will be forever exalted
For the mighty God has done great things for me
And His mercy will reach from age to age

Refrain: And holy, holy, holy is His name

Verse 2:

He has mercy in every generation
He has revealed His power and His glory
He has cast down the mighty in their arrogance
And has lifted up the meek and the lonely
He has come to help His servant Israel
He remembered His promise to our fathers

Refrain: And holy, holy, holy is His name
Holy, holy, holy is His name

Second Meditation:

Where is God calling me to be holy in my life by being a person of mercy, humility and love?

Silent Adoration/Reflection

One Decade of the Rosary

Presider: Tonight we will pray one Decade, meditating on the Third Sorrowful Mystery, The Crowning of Jesus with Thorns.
Mary helps us remember the total shame that Jesus was put through and how undignified it was.
She reminds us that we ourselves mock others, and put them to shame, yet all of us deserve dignity,
since we are all made in the image and likeness of God.
She calls us to be persons of love.

Rosary Leader:

"And the soldiers stripped off his clothes and threw a scarlet military cloak about him.
Weaving a crown out of thorns, they placed it on his head, and a reed in his right hand.
And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, ‘Hail, King of the Jews!’ "

The Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
He descended into hell;
on the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our Father ...
Hail Mary ...
Glory be ...

Fatima Prayer (all): O my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell.
Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.

All: In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Excerpts of the Prayer of St. Faustina Kowalska before the Blessed Sacrament

(All Kneel)

All: I adore you, Lord and Creator, hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
You have spread so much beauty over the earth and it tells me about your beauty,
even though these beautiful things are but a faint reflection of you, incomprehensible Beauty.
My heart is completely immersed in prayer of adoration.
To converse with you, O Lord, is the delight of my heart.
O my Lord and Creator, you alone give your own self to me.
O Christ, let me glorify your goodness and mercy to the last moment of my life.

Amen.

Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration Hymn (all):

Tantum ergo Sacramentum
Veneremur cernui,
Et antiquum documentum
Novo cedat ritui;
Praestet fides supplementum,
Sensuum defectui.

Genetori Genitoque
Laus et jubilatio,
Salus, honor, virtus quoque
Sit et benedictio:
Procedenti ab utroque
Compar sit laudatio.

Amen.

Presider: You have given them Bread from heaven.
All: Having within it all Sweetness.

Prayer before Benediction

(all):
Lord Jesus Christ, you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of your suffering and death.
May our worship of this sacrament of your Body and Blood
help us to experience the salvation you won for us
and the peace of the kingdom
where you live with the Father and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
Amen

Benediction

Holy God, we praise thy name;
Lord of all, we bow before thee:
All on earth thy scepter claim,
All in heaven above adore thee.
